Mission:
Let The Games Begin
Location: Medical
Wataba and two of his team walked into Medical, along with their security escorts. Standing tall, the Captain of the Nebulae gave a glance around the facilities that he could see right off the bat, and gave a nod. "These are the facilities that will be tending to the injured?" he inquired, turning now to the others before turning to the chief medical officer, "And I presume you've been briefed on the differences, if any, between your species and the sons and daughters of Ts'usu?"
Calvin glanced around as well. He sometimes forgot what sickbay looked like. To see it again with someone who had never seen it before. He turned after to face Wataba directly. "If any injuries surpass the capabilities of your own team's medical facilities, yes this is where you or your teammates will be taken," Calvin replied, his tone informal, but respectful. "I would be happy to give you a tour or answer any specific questions you may have. And as for briefing, yes. I have had the opportunity to work alongside Ts'usu medical staff before. And while this is my Sickbay, I will have your medical staff work with me every step. I am knowledgeable, but I will not pretend to be an expert," Calvin continued.
Wataba gave a nod, "Excellent. It's good to see someone taking pride in their task, and doing said task to the highest standard. Knowing you're familiar with the usual injuries one would get on the field does put me at ease. If a tour is no imposition, then by all means please." Wataba motioned further within, "Your field, your rules."
Calvin nodded, "I appreciate the acknowledgment. Though I hope the training is for nothing." He turned to lead the way. "This foyer area is not where you'll enter. We'll have a designated pathway for your staff. Once your facilities are set up, we will coordinate all of those logistics. My team has a mixture of staff who have worked with Ts'usu patients and those just who have been briefed." They continued on their way down a corridor through several med surg bays before arriving in an empty medical bay. Twenty Two beds were set up with several staff walking around setting up equipment. "This is the area your teams, or any son or daughter of Ts'usu will be treated."
Wataba gave a nod, "Twenty two, more than enough for Neela's thugs." he commented. "I appreciate the serious gravity you're devoting to this, Caremaster." Everything Calvin outlined seemed to check boxes off of Wataba's mental list of competence, especially the declaration of not being an expert. Humility, ironically, was something Wataba admired in others.
"It allows enough space to turn over beds. It is my hope not to see them all in use," Calvin responded, "Or any in reality. I wish to prepare for the worst, and have nothing happen. My services usually mean nothing of good is occurring."
"In theory..." he began, "...what would the average turn around time be for a recovery from a minor contact injury? Say, a harsh impact, no sprain or shatter involved." a test perhaps, or just evaluating the premises? Such an injury would just be a minor inconvenience in a properly outfitted medical center.
"In theory," Calvin responded and paused, his mind running variables. "If we assume your staff is preoccupied and can not handle it, which is why you have ended up here," Calvin stated, and paused again, "And for sake of argument no other major situations are occurring with other patients," He paused again, "And it was a large muscle group or a fascia area with no major fine motor involvement," He paused again, "From walking in the door to walking out, Less than 10 minutes. Assuming first pass regeneration resolved all major problems. Second pass regeneration healed the connecting tissue." Calvin thought for a moment about it. "Large enough area, we could tie in two regenerators to operate in sync and keep the time about the same for a large hit."
"It will probably be less than that. I can't say I've ever timed myself doing that procedure," Calvin stated. "Long story short, you'll spend more time in transit to and from medical than you will on the bed for that one."
This assessment seemed to please Wataba. "You should consider it. There's no better metric for your own improvement then seeing just how good you are. I find these facilities more than acceptable, Doctor. You've impressed me." the captaain of the Nebula gave a nod, then turned it into a full bow. Full respects. His two teammates with him also bowed in kind.
Calvin nodded in return. "I appreciate the compliment. I will pass it onto my team."
"We will try to keep the number of incidents to a minimum."
