Bringing It Together

Mission:
Enforced Intermission
Location: Main Lounge, Deck 5
The lounge aboard the unnamed starship was...sparse. Commander Rozia did say it was empty room, but that barely gave it justice. Still, Lon found the space striking. There was a sunken area in the middle of the room, separated from the raised sections by a simple railing. Windows lined the exterior wall giving a view to the front of the ship.
As Lon walked around to survey the space he became aware of a handful of others enter the lounge. He turned to them, all clad in yellow operations jumpsuits. "Fantastic, there are some tables and chairs in the corridor."
The men nodded and began bringing in the furniture.
Circular tables were chosen for a majority of the seating. Lon had once read that circular tables were much more welcoming than those with square edges, and people look less alone while seated at a round table alone. This had stuck with him and had permeated into his lounge setup. "Lets do twelve table in the pit here." He indicated the sunken area. "And three up by the window. But I also want the couch up there."
Suddenly, Lon noticed two crewman standing idly near the bar area. "You two!" He called, waving them over. "Can you go to the cargo bay and get containers; LN-001, LN-002, LN-003, LN-004, and LN-009?" He handed them a PADD from his pocket with the list.
After about twenty minutes, the seating was all set up. Tables, couches, chairs and barstools filled the space. It was really starting to come together. Immediately inside the doors, were five cargo containers. They varied in size.
Lon pulled the containers marked LN-001 and LN002 toward the bar and opened them. One by one he removed bottles of various shapes, sizes, and colour from the container. He began arranging them behind the bar. Some of these bottles were exceptionally hard to find, some were common. But they all had one similarity. None were synthehol.
Lon moved to the remaining cases and opened all of them. Inside was a collection of decor and artifacts he'd collected in his life. He wanted the space to feel cozy and be a reflection of him as well as the diversity of the Federation.Soon, the space was really starting to come together. Although he wasn't certain when the crew would be arriving, he was determined that the lounge would be ready when they did.
Pleased with his efforts, Lon decided it was time to turn in for the evening. Besides that, he had still not set up his own quarters. But it seemed that may be a task for another day.
