Captain Abigail Laurens

12 months ago today, history was made in Pegasus Fleet with the launch of the USS Astraea, NCC 80819. They say the first 6 months will make or break a sim, so to reach 1 year is a milestone to be proud of, a milestone that we have achieved together. On day one we hit the ground running, and in the past 12 months we have not only thrived, we have excelled. We have gone from strength to strength and in doing so, we have not only done ourselves proud, but we have done our Fleet proud as well.

We shared our love with 24 players.
We have written a total of 740 posts.
We achieved a top post count of 163 posts per month (July 2019)
We were awarded the 2019 Sim Of The Year for Pegasus Fleet.
Our XO, Ichiko Gail, was awarded Executive Officer Of The Year for Pegasus Fleet.
We celebrated the promotion of Ichiko Gail from Lieutenant Commander to Commander.
We celebrated the promotion of William Rogers from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander.
We celebrated the promotion of Calvin Morgan from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander.

We have taken every challenge in our stride and we have forged on, and through it all, we have formed a group of Friends that I am proud to claim as my own.

Everything we have achieved, we have done together, and none of it would be possible without each and every one of our players, past and present and for that, I very humbly thank each and every one of you for being part of our amazing success story.

Congratulations to each and every one of you for a phenomenal first year, and here is to many, many more to come!

We couldn’t have achieved this momentous event without the dedication of our Commanding Officer, Captain Abigail Laurens, who was also promoted from the rank of Commander this year, not without each and every player that is presently here or who left. I’ve no doubt this next year will be filled with even more awesomeness than the one already past and will be at LEAST 20% cooler!

Lt. Commander Calvin Morgan

Has it really been a year already? Crazy how time flies. It’s also great to see we have hit this landmark of a time span. Even with the ups and downs of life, the internet, and everything else, we have continued to stay strong. It’s great to see so many of us still here from the beginning, as well as having so many newer faces to join in on the fun. I have no doubts we have another great year ahead of us.

Lieutenant Farizah Alani

Words fail to describe what an honor and privilege it has been to be part of this crew for the past few months. I returned to the fleet after several years, and launched a command and started working my way around joining other places. The USS Astraea has been exceptionally kind to me as a writer and I have been blessed to connect not only with my character but with the characters of my fellow writers here. We have an outstanding Captain and brilliant crew. Though my time here so far has been brief, the memories made will follow me wherever I go.

Lt. William Gunnison

I've been an on-line roleplayer for more than 20 years. In that time, I've played on quite a few sims, and done many other things related to simming. Rarely have I found a place quite as wonderful as the Astraea and its crew, led by one of the finest COs I've had the opportunity to have known and simmed with. Like some here, in some ways it's amazing to think that it's been a year already, while in other ways it seems like we've been together practically forever. Here's to hoping for many more great years to come!

I don't have a lot say. It's difficult to get a sim through its first year; there's an alchemy to it. No-one really knows what it is. We've had it and kept hold of it through some fairly sizeable changes. I'm glad to be part of this. Shout out to the Astraea.

I only recently joined this sim, but so far it’s been a welcoming experience and everyone has been so nice to me. I can’t wait to spend more time getting to know everyone and writing with them and to grow with the ship.

I wasn't here from the beginning but been here for the second half of the journey, and thanks to a unexpected promotion I now get to very much be a fish out of water for some time (Enlisted but Department Head). Here is to many more voyages aboard the Astraea!
