Something's Missing

Mission:
Sounds of Silence
Location: Medical
The door to sickbay opened, admitting one very angry looking Ts'usugi lady. She was half in uniform, the half being pants, while she was still wearing what looked like a very comfortable shirt with images of hills and trees and flowers in bloom. Her other most notable feature was an eyepatch, covering her right eye.
She looked across the gulf of the desk to whoever it was that seemed to be there at this ungodly hour of the morning, and she made a hand gesture. Something across her throat, like a knife or a blade of a gesture. Quick and decisive, though something negative in fashion, then that motion was followed by a pantomime mouth of sorts. Thumb tip pressed to fingertips, and then quickly separated and returned to form a few times.
Her inability or non-desire to simply say what was the matter seemed only to further raise her ire.
Calvin looked up over the triage desk, which was one of the few places he could find some peace and quiet. Sickbay was running near capacity with the amount of people have problems from whatever sickness had infected the ship. Across triage were multiple PaDDs that were flanked by two computer consoles both turned towards the center of the desk.
After watching the Ts'usugi's hand motions he nodded simply. If Calvin was feeling fatigue he wasn't showing it, or at least not obviously. "Unable to talk, or just painful?"
Something about how he looked at her actually made her shy back for just a moment, but her current condition emboldened her to continue. She held up a single finger, either to indicate that he wait a moment or that her answer was the former. She then opened her mouth as though to speak, as though to scream, as though to make anything of a sound of communication. All that escaped her throat was mute air.
He nodded again, without the least bit of surprise crossing his face. "Follow me," he stated after picking up a PaDD. He tapped away at it quickly before handing it over to his newest patient. "I need your name, for I cannot remember it, and every bit of detail you can think of relating to this situation. We will get you situated over on this bio bed here, sorry it's not as tidy as normal, house keeping is apparently taking a day off," He finished with some sarcasm.
Sickbay was silent, or as quiet as a sleeping hospital could be. Numerous beeps and other warning sounds went off, some regular, some irregular. The noise of people shifting on uncomfortable beds, snoring, and blissful sleep created an undertone to the alarm sounds.
Callisi took the PaDD from the doctor and took a moment to familiarize herself with the layout. Name, Rank, Species, everything was tapped into the PaDD. 'Callisi Veera', then came the part about everything, every little detail. Her headache, her sleeplessness, how everything just seemed to piss her off... for that, she wrote 'irritability' and left it at that. Tap tap tap against the PaDD she went, obviously also including 'no voice' as the most recent symptom.
When she was done, she handed the PaDD back to the doctor before hopping up on the indicated bio bed.
"So good news, bad news time," He said as he skimmed the padd, which he had placed on the table next to the bio bed. "Good news, you shouldn't die," he stated matter of factly as he began getting vitals. "Bad news, we are still tracking down what's causing this, so I don't have many answers for you right now." He worked in silence for a few moments. "We can however ease some of the pain and discomfort you are feeling. At least make it a bit more bearable."
Her vitals were understandably different from baseline human, but well within acceptable ranges for her race aside from the heightened pulse and the trouble spots where she was likely feeling the most pain. To the former, she gave a glance before she made some form of gesture. It started as a swipe up along one of her ears, followed by a dismissive wave of her hand. Like how one would swipe along their forehead in a 'phew' motion.
To the latter, though, she actually gave a silent sigh of relief. Her shoulders slumped a little, like a weight was removed from her shoulders. Some solid sleep would certainly help her mood.
Calvin handed the PaDD back over to Callisi, "While I get your meds sorted, do you have any moments, or places, or parts of your body where the pain or issues are coming from, or emanating, or starting from?" Calvin looked baffled by his own question, trying to phrase it to make sense. He frowned, leaving it at that turning to the cabinet to load up hyposprays.
Callisi took the PaDD back and started to type, ignoring the picture of the standard iso human for reference. Bedroom, Connecting room, Kitchen, Bathroom, Quarters, Nighttime, Sleeping, Half-Asleep, Half-Awake. Base of head, Base of Ears, Side of Head, Middle of Neck. Key terms she typed in, and then handed the completed questionnaire back to the doctor.
He read the questionnaire, sighing slightly with the answers not clicking in his head yet. "Alright, I'm going to give you the meds now, hopefully you can get a little rest and sleep."
Callisi gave a nod, slow and measured. It wasn't a show of distrust, quite the opposite really. It was a sign that any sudden movement of her head wasn't welcome at the moment. Before she laid down, she turned and actually fluffed her pillow up a bit. A creature of comfort, even in such a limited supply. As something of a reflex, she reached up and almost removed the eyepatch covering her right eye, but she caught herself, shook her head, and then laid back on the pillow.
With the sound of the hypospray, the medication was administered. Calvin dimmed the lights in the area, and left her to rest while he racked his brain over the additional information provided to him.
