Home Is Where The Rock Lays.

Mission: New Beginnings

Shaille stood in the middle of their quarters, looking around at the sparse, Starfleet standard quarters. The only thing that deviated from the standard design and decor was the single rock sitting in the middle of the coffee table in the main living area.

With a heavy sigh, she turned around to Koh, trying to force a smile on her face. "Well, I guess this is home now."

Koh gave her a smile, softer then usual but still a smile. "Home. You know, the closet here is bigger than most of the places I called home back in the Empire, so there's that." he offered, and crossed the distance to gently put his arms around here. "Home is here." he held onto that moment for a while, before looking over at the table, "Ts'usu is over there." he smirked, "But home... home is right here."

Smiling as she leaned into him, Shaille closed her eyes for a moment. "I got lost twice today. I had to stop and ask the computer for directions three times to get back to our quarters." she shook her head slightly. "I think transporters are going to be my friend, at least initially. I was surprised though that there's only one fighter bay?"

"Yeah, but it's the size of a small country. I think I can have my mail forwarded to the bay." he chuckled. "This craft is enormous. I ... I'll be honest, it's a little intimidating. I went a full three minutes before I found another person roaming the halls. We have maybe seven or eight ships of a size comparable to this one." he paused, "And don't you tell anyone I told you that." he smirked, "But we have massive capital ships, but they're full of people. This ship... feels hollow."

"I mean, except for any room you're in." he covered with a smirk.

Shaille laughed. "Flattery gets you everywhere," she replied, her voice light with laughter. "But you're right, the ship is massive. There are so many new faces I don't recognise." She sighed, taking his hand and walking across to the couch, waiting or him to sit before she curled in next to him. "So apparently tomorrow when we launch we're heading straight to the Delta Quadrant," she frowned as she spoke. "Dalacar. Again."

He sat, and welcomed her to cuddle into his side, "There's no denying it's a hospitable place. A resort that tailors itself to your every trending need." he smirked, teasing a bit. "First thing I'll do when we get there is let the drones know to give us some space. That one hour grace period I requested wore off, ohhhh... a while ago." he chuckled slightly, but he knew. That much information, that much attention. A gilded cage, built to order, and as accommodating a prison as can be.

"We could just stay on the ship. It's big enough to be a resort. I have to imagine the simulation rooms are about as big as Dalacar's resort cities." he chuckled.

She pulled his arm around her and closed her eyes for a moment. At least his presence made her feel at home, much more so than the bulkheads around them currently did. "I definitely won't object to staying on the ship, at least for the most part. A bit of shopping wouldn't be awful, and I would like to go back to the main security center. What was his name? The one that gave us that tour?"

"Administrator Kelig." Koh fielded, with a nod. "And I'm certain he'd enjoy a follow up meeting, if it can be arranged. As for shopping, I'm very certain that could be arranged." he smiled softly, Then he gave a chuckle, "Shopping is trending, I hear." he teased with a smile, leaning his forehead against the side of her head gently. "Please don't kill me." he whispered.

One hand moving to the other side of his head, Shaille smiled, her fingertips toying absently with the base of his ear. "You're lucky I love you," she replied softly. "Or remarks like that might land you in an empty torpedo casing," she teased back.

Koh's smile strengthened, a rare sight to some, but a familiar sight to Shaille. His ear gently twitched at the touch, "Oh, I have it on good authority. Rabbits and lucky and such." he whispered, "Though, I also have the common sense not to *push* said luck. So, quiet evenings back on the ship. Essentially, have the ship to ourselves. We could hit the lounge, hit the simulation room, or just stay in and, you know... find ways to pass the time."

He paused, "And, I know how lucky I am. A fateful night, intruders in the ship, and we held our own. I'll never forget that night. Even the headache the next day."

"As I recall, the breakfast the next morning certainly wasn't bad either," she replied quietly. "I'm the one that got lucky," she smiled, closing her eyes momentarily and exhaling softly. "I think spending some time on the ship sounds like fun, we can explore. Did you know there's a night club on the ship? And an entire civilian community section?"

"Breakfast was particularly good that day. I'm just very grateful things turned out how they did. I was terrified that you were going to throw me out. We'd never speak, and things would be so incredibly awkward whenever we were in the same room." he admitted. "I can't tell you how glad I am things worked out."

He paused, and almost pulled back. "A.. a what now? And a Community section?" this intrigued him, "Is their a parcel service too?" now he was teasing. "But, a bit of home brought with you through the dark.... seems like the Federation is catching up." he smiled, giving the side of her head a gentle nudge. "Want to check it out?"

"Throw you out?" Shaille asked, a look of mock horror on her face. "Why would I do that? I like having my lucky rabbits foot around, and I have it on good authority I need two to be lucky," she teased back. "I think we could have a lot of fun exploring the civilian section, maybe we can do it while we're stopped at Dalacar?"

"I think so as well. I think it would do us both a world of good to be surrounded by actual people who are happy to see us, rather than drones programmed to be accommodating." he offered, "Besides, I need to take a tour of this flying city we get to call home. Might as well see everything."

"Oh, I plan to see everything," one eyebrow raised slightly as she teased in response. "I like when I get to see everything."
