Self guided tour

Roxa had been offered to keep her quarters on the station, but she figured she might as well get to know her new home the best she could. It always helped to be familiar with the deck layout of the ship that you would be serving on and she had never seen an Odyssey Class Starship.

The young woman rambled as she escorted the Lieutenant to her quarters and with a sudden stop she turned on her heels and with a smile "here we are Lieutenant Onaix."

"Thank you" Roxa returned a half smiled and pressed in her access code not saying another word to the girl. The lights activated as the woman entered her quarter "very nice" Roxa said out loud and tossed her bag down on the bed. The quarters were more then adequate and the decorum of the senior officers quarters were rather nice.

Roxa smiled when she accidently activated her holo-frame and images of her parents and brother started their typical loop. There was a small shelf that was made for personal items and it was the perfect place for that and the few things she carried with her. She also had a few hygiene items like make up and perfume that she placed in the restroom area of her quarters. All and all she was rather impressed with what she had seen of the Astraeaand the excitement was getting the best of her.

Moments after Roxa finished in her quarters she emerged from the turbo lift on her first stop of her self guided tour. "Evening" Lieutenant Onaix gave a nod to the two officers working at a console.

"Ma'am" the Ensign said with a nervous smile "just finishing up final diagnostics on your ship."

"No no" Roxa smiled "I'm just the Intel Officer and I'll let you get back to work" she could tell these two wanted to finish their job and get back to the station. Making her way back into the turbo lift she decided she wanted to check out the intelligence suite and if she remembered correctly departmental offices were on deck three and seconds later stepped onto that deck.

Of course the door was locked when she arrived "computer grant access to intelligence office. Authorization Onaix, Beta, 415" the computer beeped and the doors slid open and the lights and consoles lit up. State of the art was an understatement when it came to this ship and like a kid in a candy store the Lieutenant started checking everything in the office out. First it was the weapons storage with an efficient number of tricorders, phaser rifles, side arms and various other goodies. The second thing Onaix did was check out the security of the office, she was again impressed they should have no issues with leaks of intel.

Sealing the room from the console at the main desk the Lieutenant pulled up the latest from Starfleet Intelligence. It wasn't anything new of significant importance, although she had no idea what command had planned for the crew. A new message caught her attention and she was glad she paid attention it was a message from her parents. Closing her intel items out the Lieutenant went to the replicator and quickly grabbed a salad for dinner and a sparkling lemon water.

"Hey honey it's mom" Rixna said and started laughing at herself. A males voice came from off the view screen "she knows who you are Rixna" came a chuckle followed by "how's my girl" as Captain Onaix sat down beside his wife.

Roxa smiled at the sight of her parents and their being silly "gods I miss you two" she whispered to herself.

"I always feel so silly doing these" Rixna said to her husband "we are doing great dear" she added looking back at the screen. "We are getting some upgrades and will be stationed for a bit" before she could say anything else her husband chimed in "I'm demanding it be a week or less".

Roxa rolled her eyes and laughed, her father was a true Starfleet Captain and couldn't stand for his ship to be down and not out there exploring or helping those in need. It didn't bother her, she just didn't know how her mother hadn't gotten used to it by now.

The video caught her attention again when her mother said "well anyway I'm going to pack to go to Betazed and he better come with me, love you honey, be safe" Commander Onaix blew her daughter a kiss via the view screen. "Yes honey looks like we are getting in a shuttle" he kissed his hand and held it up to the screen "be safe out there" he cut off the communication.

"Love you mommy and daddy" Roxa would never let anyone hear her say that, but she felt safe where she was and with a smile on her face she filed the message away and realized she had finished her salad during the message. Closing out the console and cleaning up her dinner mess it was time to head back to her quarters. "Computer seal intel office" she ordered as she walked out of the office.

Roxa woke up with a huge yawn and realized she fell asleep on the sofa in her quarters. The PADD she had been reading hit the floor as she started to sit up a little stiffness in her neck "remind me not to do that again" she told her self and stretched in an attempt to release the soreness in her neck. She picked up the PADD and tossed it on the sofa and slowly made her way over to the replicator "Betazoid brew with cream and sugar" it was a great brew of coffee her dad always drank. Roxa changed from the uniform she had slept in and tossed on some work out clothes and running shoes and off she went on one of her 'get to know the ship' jogs.
