"Computer, open and record Captain's Log. Stardate 71873.07. The Astraea has been crippled by some kind of technology glitch that is affecting all our systems across the ship. I don't know how to explain it, infact, I don't think anyone knows how to explain it.

Our science officer, Lieutenant Wiseman said it herself, this glitch almost appears sentient. No sooner do we resolve one issue then another arises.

We have systems going down across the board. Helm control was somehow transferred to a cargo bay. Turbolifts are no longer working. Site to site transporters are malfunctioning. All replicators are offline. We have snow on deck five and deck four is like a sauna and life support has started failing on various decks.

I have ordered all non essential personnel to evacuate the ship immediately and that our fighters and shuttles be launched. Commander Gail has made contact with a Ts'usugi vessel in the area that is now enroute to our location to assist where possible, but there is growing concern that this glitch, whatever it is, may spread further, beyond our ship.

On the advice of Engineering, once the escape pods and shuttles are clear, we are going to attempt to 'reboot' the ship. Power everything off, reboot the main computer core and then try bringing systems back online. In doing so our systems should reset to where they are supposed to be."

A heavy sigh replaced the voice that speaking, the sound of soft footfalls on the carpeted floor, then silence again for a moment.

"I remember doing command training, I remember the simulations where we had to give the orders to abandon ship, to evacuate the crew. I know this isn't one of those situations, there is no immediate risk to the crew, we aren't under attack, the evacuation was precautionary, but still. Having issued the order, having actually said the words, it's something I never thought I'd have to do, and even in this situation, the feeling doesn't sit well with me, not in the slightest. May the Deities watch this ship and her crew until this is over. Computer, end recording and save."
