Mission:
Into The Delta Triangle
Location: Kessik III
Meka nodded to Lin who broke away, heading toward the rear exit of the side hall. They both knew this area of the market well. The back door lead out into a long alley way that was rarely used, but it also gave them easy access to an array of abandoned buildings that could prove to be beneficial.
Following Meka's eyes, Lin nodded back before heading down the alley. This was hopefully going to work in their favor, she just had to be patient. Though, she didn't enjoy having to be.
Following the blonde and the brunette, Meka waited until they were focusing on an array of what was best described as junk from one vendor before she wandered up slowly, perfectly feigning nonchalance as she stepped in next to them, reaching for a hyperspanner, turning it in her hand before she set it back down again. "Still nothing new Jelvulk?"
Turning to Lexi, she rolled her eyes slightly. "I swear, this hall becomes more and more redundant every day," she remarked.
Shaille cast a glance at Lexi before looking back at Meka. "Really? Is there anywhere else that you'd recommend?"
Meka shrugged slightly. "Depends what you're in the market for. Most of this stuff here is junk."
"We're looking for a plasma mainstay regulator," Shaille replied before Lexi had a chance to speak.
"Parts like that are hard to come by," Meka replied, pursing her lips so she looked contemplative. "Tell you what, you need to talk to Lin. She's the best to hook you up. I just saw her heading out back. You can't miss her, tall, dark hair, looks kinda cranky. Tell her Meka sent you." She offered a grin before she walked away, winding her way through the various stalls before walking back out the front door she had just come in.
Shaille watched as Meka wandered off throughout the vendor stalls before looking back at Lexi. "What do you think? Worth a try?" she asked quietly.
Lexi's eyes followed Meka as she walked off, her stretching out with her senses to try to catch some sort of emotion from the woman. Unfortunately, her empathic gift was weak enough on good days and she caught something ambiguous, nothing to go on at all for any sort of read, so she nodded to Shaille, "Couldn't hurt, could it?"
"You know it violates all away team protocols, right?" Shaille said quietly as they started walking through the crowded hall. "Alani would have our heads if she knew."
"Then we don't let her know." Alexis replied, glancing over her shoulder to see if they were being followed, "I won't tell her if you don't tell her."
Shaille shrugged slightly. "Just making sure." The tall, slim figure of Lin had just disappeared through the door as they reached the back. Shaille jumped forward and and grabbed it before it closed. "Hey, Lin? You're Lin, right?" she called after the retreating form.
Still walking a little bit, Linza smirked with her face turned away from the ones coming toward her. She wanted to get them away from the main market before speaking. There were still some there that she didn't trust. Plus, if they hadn't heard of her, what were they doing there? Something didn't sit right with this.
Finally stopping, or at least slowing, Lin finally spoke. "Since I don't know you...Linza. But yes, that's me. Take it that Meka sent you my way?"
Alexis's eyes locked on the back of Linza's head and kept walking to keep up, "That's right, she said you could help us find plasma mainstay regulator? We couldn't find one in any of the shops on the street."
"Among other things," Lin said, "depending on what it is that you want that is." Finally out of view of everywhere else, and everyone else as well, she reached into her belt and palmed the small phaser she had. But, she didn't make it obvious as she turned to them. "Plasma mainstay regulator? Honestly, don't get many requests for those around here."
Something had changed and Alexis couldn't figure it out. It was a small change and as Lin turned around, she answered a question, "Our secondary regulator had a catastrophic failure, but we had a spare in stores." She shrugged, eyes never leaving, "So we need a new spare." Something... Her eyes met Lin's and she blinked once hard and long, her eyebrows shifting as she analyzed what she was feeling, her eyes locked onto Lin's again and a shot of adrenaline ran through her system. That's what it was, the woman in front of her was jumpier, more 'ready' than she was. Lexi's eyes narrowed fractionally, trying to determine intent of some kind, felt the tension. Her eyes opened wide and a gasp escaped her as she felt the potential danger.
"You know what," Shaille said quietly. "I think we'll just go check the market again, we might find what we're looking for there," her hand closed around Lexi's forearm and she turned, ready to walk away, just in time to see Meka approaching through the alley way.
"Changed your mind already?" Meka asked with a cheerful smile. "Linza hasn't even shown you the good stuff yet."
Shaille shook her head. "Look, we're Starfleet officers, we're here looking for someone, that's all, and seeing as how you aren't a grey skinned spoonhead, you're not our target demographic, so forget it."
"Well, now, don't think admitting you're Starfleet changes anything. This 'grey skinned spoonhead' you mentioned...I might know who they are and where they are but," Linza raised the phaser at the two officers, "I never did like Starfleet, even when I was in it." She fired the stun bolts at both of them and looked to Meka. "Had to be Starfleet..."
