Mission:
Into The Delta Triangle
Timeline: Backpost
Styveck stepped off of the transporter pad and back onto the familiar decks of the Astrae. He returned to his quarters, and unpacked his small bag, and set his PaDD on his desk. His sparse furnishings were appropriate from for a Vulcan, though he did get a bit extravagant when it came to tea. He was lucky enough to come across a merchant who sold some different blends of tea while he was away so he unpacked those as well and placed them in sealed glass jars on his shelf.
"Computer, notify the Captain I have returned," he stated in his steady, nearly monosyllabic tone.
The doors to his office had parted just in time for Abigail to hear his remark. "The Captain is already aware," she said warmly. "Lieutenant Styvek, it's good to see you back here again my friend. I trust everything is okay?"
Styveck stood stiffly as he heard the captain’s voice,”All is Well Captain, I was asked to oversee counseling due to a natural disaster on a planet. I am back and plan to continue working with crew. Is all well with you ma’am?”
"All is very well," Abigail replied with a smile as she walked into the counselors office. "I hope this time you're back to stay longer? Your junior officers do well in a crunch, but it's definitely not the same as having you around."
"I will be here as long as Starfleet feels my services are of benefit here. I do appreciate the sentiment of your statement, Captain, though I believe it based on emotion and familiarity." He looked at the Captain a moment before asking, "Would you like a cup of tea? it is from Vulcan."
"Sure," Abigail replied as she sank into the seat across from his desk. "I haven't seen your transfer orders yet, did Starfleet give you any indication of how long we might expect to have you back with us this time?"
Styvek proceeded to make two cups of tea, “The orders I received before my arrival were to permanently attach me to your ship. I believe I shall remain here unless you request a transfer for me to leave,” he said almost monotone.
"In that case, I expect to be seeing a lot more of you," Abigail said warmly, accepting the tea and watching him. There were other counselors on board, but there was something unique about Styvek, he had ingratiated himself among the crew. "I assume you're up to speed on our current orders?"
“Understood Captain,” he responded, “I am unsure of the current orders Astraea is operating under, I was not privy to that information while not on board ma’am.” He took a sip of his tea and waited for the Captain’s reply.
"We're enroute to the Delta Triangle. The Cardassian Government has enlisted the help of the Federation in locating a former Cardassian military leader by the name of Breloc Tejar who is wanted to stand trial for war crimes during the occupation of Bajor." She paused, taking a sip of the tea. "Intelligence indicates that Kessik is a region of interest for him and he may be there, or at least have been there recently enough to make it worth while investigating."
Styveck nodded, "That does sound like someone who need to brought to justice. How can I assist, Captain?"
"We won't know a whole lot of what to expect until we get there, so I guess we're mostly going to just be taking things as they come. Unfortunately there's not much else we can do at this point. Do you need anything to help make your transition back to the ship smoother? Do you have everything you need?"
"Captain, please report to the bridge." The sound of the voice over her comm made her sigh softly.
"Never a dull moment," she offered Styvek with a smile. "If you need anything, just let us know. And Lieutenant, welcome back." With a quick nod, Abigail walked out of his quarters to make her way back to the bridge. Something told her that this was going to be a long mission.
