Velocity

Mission:
Into The Delta Triangle
Location: USS Astraea | Deck 03 | Holodeck 02
The Bolian Chief of Security walked the corridor heading to holodeck 2 dressed in athletic attire, a black tracksuit with goldenrod accent, double line racing stripes down the sides. She arrived at the holodeck and queued up her program, a game of Velocity. She had made an open challenge to anyone regardless of sex, species, rank, or position to meet her in holodeck two for a match of Velocity.
Farizah entered the holodeck, the program running, and grabbed one of the holographic phasers while she waited to see if anyone was brazen enough to challenge her. She was on the Academy's velocity team and orchestra, and was a student of Capoeira. Her strength in velocity was within her agility and acrobatic nature.
"What's up!" The greeting followed the opening hiss of the holodeck doors. Unsure of what this challenge would entail Buck had donned his usual gym attire of tracksuit bottoms and a slightly too tight undershirt. "Lieutenant Alani, right?"
"Excellent, you do notice me at the tactical station when you are laying in a course" replied Farizah when she noticed the man who entered the holodeck. "Commander," she added addressing him by rank with a bit of a smirk as she fetched the other phaser and handed it over to him.
Buck took the weapon and attached it to his waist while he did a few warm up stretches. "Helps that you stand out." He replied with a laugh.
"It's the hair isn't it" she replied teasingly. "I just never know what to dye it" she added then placed her hand on her hips. "How's your stamina, Commander. I don't want to wear you out our first time."
An eyebrow cocked slightly in Farizah's direction. "Don't worry about me, Lieutenant. I can go all day."
"Oh yes," replied Farizah with a smirk as she made her way to the 'court' and stood ready. "That is exactly what I like to hear. I love hearing you can go all day."
Buck pressed a hand against his neck and cracked his vertebra as he took up a position opposite the Bolian. "Planning on it being a long match, huh?"
Farizah scoffed "No, but just in case, I want someone who can last a while without needing me to carry their sore ass down to Sickbay. Of course, if it is an emergency we can site-to-site, but I like feeling of carrying my victims off the battlefield."
"Well now I'm tempted to fake it just to see if you can actually lift me."
The Bolian smirked. "Don't tempt me, Human" she said to the man as she readied herself. "Assume the position, and let a woman show you how this is done" added Farizah. "Computer, begin velocity round one level setting... intermediate."
Intermediate. That was good. At least in Buck's mind it was. It had been quite a while since he'd last played Velocity so he leaned into what he remembered had worked well for him in the past: playing defensively - use his enhanced stamina to wear down his opponent. Alani seemed to know what she was about when it came to the game though, so Buck didn't feel too poorly about making the most use of his augmented speed and agility. If he was to stand any hope of winning he'd need to use every advantage he had to its fullest.
Farizah was quick to use the phaser and hit the disk that came whirling her way, the color of it changed and it was sent slicing through the air and bouncing off the sides of the holodeck walls. it was on a direct course for the Lieutenant Commander's head. She fully expected him to get a shot off at it and dodge it.
Buck's eyes were already tracking the disk as it came towards him. Even as he jumped backwards, taking himself out of the path of the disk, he was raising his phaser. Returning fire he sent the sent the disk back towards Farizah. It ricocheted off the wall to the right, descending toward's the Bolean's hip.
Farizah missed hitting the disk yet avoided it hitting her. Nonetheless, she missed the opportunity and it cost her. Her opponent ended up receiving some points from it. She applauded him with a nod. "very nice" she said as she sent the disk whirring threw the air and bouncing off the wall heading towards his abdomen.
"Thanks. Hope you're not going easy on me." Buck replied. In stopping to talk he'd left himself open. Chastising himself Buck managed to hit a return shot, but it was little more than an easy volley to return.
Farizah scoffed at the comments. "I have never nor will I ever go easy on anyone, darling Commander" she said to the man. The Bolian scored a few points as she hit the disk in a central location. "You're going to make me work for this and I like that in a competitor" she added. Indeed, the two of them would continue playing for a good long while trading the lead back and forth until both were near exhaustion.
