Setting things in motion

When Will and Cole returned to the ship after their shoreleave, Will was almost tempted to look around cautiously as they made their way from the transporter room to their quarters, lest he be "ambushed" by any new crewmembers, either Lt. Lee (who just might take Will up on his earlier comment about her meeting Cole a little too much to heart) or some other newcomer who, for whatever reason, might decide that they simply couldn't wait for some more appropriate time to want to talk to him about something.

After the staff briefing, Will started making some notes on a padd about how to work with both the Astraea's transponder as well as prepping two shuttles. He'd probably have to work with Engineering on some of this, but he doubted that it would be any sort of a problem.

Before he did, he had one thing he wanted to quietly set up first. After spending a few days thinking about it, he felt that Kelly's aunt Brianne was right - in order for Admiral Lockwood to have done what he did in regards to the Ts'Usugi ship the Astraea had recovered, it made a certain amount of sense that there had to be someone on board who was, at the very least, feeding him information, and it was someone who was likely to have known Lockwood for a while.

Will headed into his office, and quietly set up a search program to search the personnnel files of those who would likely have had contact with Lockwood at some point in either their career or personal life. It was a search that might take a while, since there would have to be a certain amount of hypothetical parameters to be taken into account (especially in situations where someone might have had some sort of informal interaction with Lockwood outside of their Starfleet career), but as Brianne had noted, it was what he had to work with at the moment. Will also set it up so that it wouldn't be obvious that the program existed.

Once the search parameters were set up and the program was initiated, Will headed off to main engineering to meet with Chief Thor and Lt. McMillan.
