Alcohol, Photons and Forcefields

Mission:
Around The World in 8 Days
Location: The Raging Deity Lounge
Ashe was sitting cross legged on the bar, a tall red and orange drink swirling in a glass in her hand as she surveyed the otherwise completely empty lounge. She had already put a call in to both Operations and Engineering, asking for bodies to help her with some busy work, now she was just waiting for them to arrive.
Stephanie answered the call, heading to the lounge. Given how long she had been asked to wait from leaving the Chaffee to coming aboard the Astraea, she was willing to remain aboard with the caretaker crew while the others were away. She arrived with a toolkit in hand, something she learned to always show up with since her first week on the Bunker Hill.
"Hello. Lieutenant JG Stephanie McMillan, ma'am. I got your call?"
Ashe turned her attention to the newcomer, casting a steady gaze over her. "You must be new," she said with an easy smile. "Engineering or Operations?"
"Yes ma'am. Recent transfer from the Chaffee. I'm the Assistant Chief Engineer now." Stephanie replied with a nod.
"Call me Ashe, I'm not Ma'am." The bartender swept her rainbow hair back over her shoulder. "Excellent, then you're exactly the person I need to be speaking to," she said with a grin. "While the majority of the crew is on shore leave I want to refit the lounge. I want to install holotechnology so that I can change the appearance of the Deity as the mood strikes. So, Assistant Chief Engineer Lieutenant Stephanie McMillan, how do we do that?"
"Well...it'd require placement of holo emitters all around here, plus I'd need to look over the EPS layout on this deck and see how I can get the power we'd need." Stephanie considered, looking around, "Bad news is that I may have to pull down several bulkheads, plus the ceiling and deck plating, to install the emitters."
She paused, glancing absently at one of the bulkheads. "...assuming the ship hasn't undergone any modifications that added strain to the power grid, we should be able to get the power we need."
Finally, she turned back to Ashe, "So. We're going to need to close the lounge completely, get the furniture out, and then set about popping the bulkheads off."
"That'll be easy enough, I've called Operations in, they should be able to transport it all to a cargo hold." Ashe turned sideways on the bar so she could look back in the space behind her. "This needs to stay," she said, patting the surface of the bar she was sitting on. "But if we can maybe project an image over top of it would be good so it can change with the decor, and maybe behind it could have a holographic overlay of some kind, does that make sense?"
Stephanie set the toolkit down and pulled out her tricorder. "That's possible, yeah. We'll need a specialist to make the program adjustments, but I think that's possible." She flipped the tricorder open and began taking readings of the room.
"It's not a tall feat. Both Voyager and Prometheus proved it was possible decades ago. We'll need to make some tweaks to make sure that no one can monkey with the program but you and those you choose to make edits. We'll also need something to keep the place looking as close to this as possible and not like the holodeck when we can't run the programs." Stephanie explained.
"And, of course, we'll need the Captain's approval. The rest is just elbow grease and work, with the hard part being figuring out just how to adjust the EPS conduits." Stephanie concluded while conducting her scans.
Ashe grinned easily and picked up a PaDD from the bar next to her, tossing it toward the Engineer. "Already have the signed work order," she said cheerfully. "I got the Captain to sign it before she went planetside." Finishing her drink, Ashe set the empty glass down before she jumped off the bar. "So how long do you think it'll take to whip this magic up?"
"Well, that's a plus. But let's see here...it'll take me a couple of hours to install the emitters and I honestly don't know how long the EPS side will take me. If we have what we need, maybe another hour. If not...I might have to put in a full shift and then some." Stephanie said, "So, probably safe to keep the doors closed for the rest of the day. I can try to space it out so that you can reopen during if you need me to."
"Nah, definitely better off keeping it closed until it's all done." She glanced at the door expectantly before shaking her head. "Operations was supposed to come as well to discuss the programming side of it. I guess they got held up," she said with a pout. "Well, onward and upward, right?"
"Yeah, guess so." Stephanie said and folded the tricorder up, tucking it back into its holster on her belt. "I guess first things first is get the furniture moved. Hopefully we can just mass beam it all into the cargo bay. And then we'll start on the bulkheads."
"Well, I'll get Operations up here and we can get started." Ashe said with a grin. "I'm actually excited about this! It's going to be nice to see the lounge all spiffy."
The doors hissed open revealing a human crewman with greying brown hair. "Excuse me, Ma'am?" It wasn't clear which of the room's occupants the question as directed towards. "I've been assigned to assist with the engineering works here."
Stephanie looked up to the arriving crewman.
"Yes. We're installing holoemitters here, going to add to the ambiance, I think. We need to clear out the furniture, not the bar though. I can also use some help in the holographic programming. If you'll take care of that, I'll start prepping for the emitters." Stephanie said, glancing to Ashe to see what she had to add.
"Well, I'm sure you don't need me under feet or getting in the way, so I'll leave y'all to it," Ashe said with a grin. "Give me a shout if you need me for anything?"
"Right you are, Ma'am." Venn said.
