Report

Posted on Fri Mar 27th, 2020 @ 10:03pm by Captain Abigail Laurens & Lieutenant Commander William Gunnison

Mission: Dead Moon
Timeline: between "Romulans V Round Ears" and "Difficult Decisions"

"Captain, I have a preliminary report on the unauthorized transport," Will reported. "Sensor scans show that there are three lifesigns on the other ship, all human. Security is conducting a survey to see who isn't on board any more, and should have the information shortly."

Abigail nodded, handing a mug to Will before returning to her own side of her desk, sinking down gratefully into the comfort of the chair before raising the mug to her lips and blowing gently at the liquid before taking a sip.

"I suspect that Commander Gail could likely tell us who they are," the commanding officer said quietly. "The Ts'usugi ship has shields raised. They couldn't have done that without help." She sighed and took another sip. "I don't want to be involving Commander Gail in this from our perspective. While she is off duty for medical reasons, I don't want her implicated in any of this. Let's just let security keep doing their thing for the moment."

"My thoughts as well," Will said, then hesitated for a moment. "It doesn't bode well, though, that whomever it is on board the other ship knows what they're doing. That does limit the number of individuals that it could be, as there would only be a very few people that our fellow Ts'usugi crewmembers would ever provide with the needed information to pull something like this off. For what it's worth, I'm on their side - the ship should be returned to its rightful owners. But this action won't make any of them look good if Starfleet Command ever finds out."

"Well, we'll just have to find a way to make sure they don't find out," Abigail replied quietly. "I have already spoken to Lieutenant Rogers when he raised the Ts'usugi concern with me. Work with him and make sure ALL records of the away team are scrubbed from our computers, even our backups. I want everything downloaded to a single data PaDD and returned to me. I believe all traces of the transport have already been scrubbed by whoever is over there, but check anyway and make sure." She rubbed her temples slightly. "I know this puts you in a difficult position Lieutenant, and for that I apologize."

"It's no trouble at all, Captain," Will said. "If there's nothing else, I'll get right on that."

Abigail shook her head. "Nothing else right now, thank you Lieutenant... I..." she paused and drew in a deep breath. "I appreciate both your assistance and your discretion."

Watching as her Chief of Operations stood up and exited her ready room, Abigail leaned back in her seat, contemplating for a moment just how difficult this situation was starting to prove itself to be.
