Mission: Getting To Know You

Having met with his acting deputy in a rather interesting exchange, coming to a mutual understanding of duties, Aleksi decided that he needed to talk with officer who be the second most interested in his existence, Security and Tactical. Whether it was because he knew the adversary or they'd want to keep an eye on them, it was a good bet they'd at least pretend to listen. Also, they'd probably be looking for an apology due to his earlier antics. Chiming the CSTO's door he affected his most charming smile, figuring the worst they could do was stun him.

Alanah had finally found a second to relax she was going over some staff files when she heard the door. "Come in" she said as she stood from her chair and straightened his uniform which never seemed to be big enough.

Aleksi stepped in, looking around the office to try and get a gauge on who he was about to speak with. The last this his eyes went to was the woman who looked like she could use a tailor, "Ah, Lieutenant Matashi, it's wonderful to meet you. I'm Lieutenant Aleksander Voroshilov," There was a bit of accent poured on his name. Not necessary, but it was fun, "Your new Chief of Intelligence."

"Its a pleasure. Do you prefer Aleks or Aleksander?" She said as she extended her hand.

He took her hand, "Either is alright by me Alanah," His eyes showed a little confusion, "Am I saying that right?"

"Yep sounds better with your accent anyway." She said with a coy giggle. Men with accents where always fascinating to say the least. "So how has your move gone so far?"

"So far," Taking a seat, he looked up at the woman with a grin, "Not the smoothest I've experienced but life is life. At least I'm alive and mostly intact."

Alanah took her seat. At his answer she got a puzzled look. "Something happen?" She asked curious into a story.

"Rapid fire appointments, a few misplaced bags. It's all the things you'd expect from a transfer," Not entirely true, but if she was interested in his past it was always a search away, "But I'm not here to discuss my woes, but rather how I can help you."

Alanah made a mental not to look into any incidents she was read into yet. She turned her attention to his last statement. "Help me?"

"You control the tactics of this vessel, responsible for the bird's security," He pointed to her, his body language loose. Slowly he pointed to himself, "I'm the one who knows the enemy. How they move, their capabilities. While I hope you don't have to use it, I was hoping to have a weekly training session with your team. Tailored to whatever area of operations we're working in of course."

"Yeah I suppose we can integrate an intelligence briefing into some of our scheduled trainings." She said open to the idea.

"Fantastic," Smiling, he leaned back. It was actually fantastic, a real tangible way he could contribute to the mission even when there was no mission to be had, "Where are you from? If you don't mind me asking."

She was surprised that an Intel officer didnt know where she was from but maybe it's a test. "I am from Earth but raised all over. Where ever my father was stationed. How about you?"

"An insignificant colony on the far reaches of the Federation, left there as soon as I could," He chuckled, watching the woman's reaction. He didn't really know much about her, having yet to dig into her file, but you could only learn so much from paper, "Since then I've been fairly nomadic."

"Once I joined Starfleet I have had a pretty stable career. This will only be my third posting." She said with a grin. " I look forward to seeing what you have to add to the trainings."

"And I look forward to giving your team the best mine can," He stood up, sensing their conversation was coming to close. Offering his hand he smiled, "If you need anything else from me, I'm available at any time."

Alanah took the offered hand and shook it. "I look forward to working with you." She said with a smile.

"Same to you Alanah," Dropping her hand with nod he walked out of the office, confident that he had made his first tangible step to improve the ship's survivability.
