Mission:
War and Peacekeeping
Location: USS Astraea
Timeline: Current
Lucy had just been stood down to go planetside for some shore leave, and decided that she wanted some company. She headed for the flight deck, hoping to find Petty Officer Jon Mackerbie. Lucy and Jon had become friends over the time they'd known eachother onboard, so she wanted to get to know him a bit better. She walked out onto the flight deck and looked around for him.
Jon for his part was going over her Razor, several ammunition panels open as well as the cockpit hatch. All fighters were similarly seemingly in maintenance.
Lucy saw her craft and headed over, seeing panel's open all over the place as well as the cockpit. "I hope you haven't broken anything Jon." She said quietly, creeping up behind him.
"Ah, nope. Just unloading all ammo and locking down your tactical computer." Jon smiled, giving a wave. "Figured you might want to take her out for a spin, this way you can take her down to the surface, if you want since she technically counts as a transport now."
"I believe that was the plan, the whole flights gonna do some training exercises I think. Of course it won't all be work, seems as it is shore leave. So I was wondering if maybe you'd like to meet me down on the surface, maybe go and get some food, hang out a bit?" She asked, hoping that he'd say yes.
"Oh I don't know, I'd have to check my schedule, see if I can fit it in between having a replicated dinner by myself or flipping through my media library again to try and find something I'm in the mood to watch." He rubbed is chin thoughtfully. "Just kidding, I'd love to go on a date." he added with a charmingly rogueish grin.
“A date? Who said anything about a date?” She quipped back, giving a cheeky wink and a grin.
"I did. Just now." He tilted his head, maintaining that grin. "Weren't you listening?"
“All right smart ass, now wow me with your date idea, I’d better enjoy it or there’ll be trouble mister.” She laughed, winking again.
"Hey now, you're the one inviting me, remember? Don't turn it around on me now." he smirked. "Though if you're going to pester me, twist my arm - you fighter jockey types like speed, right? How about we find out if there's like a dirtbike course or speed boat course, or something else we can race?"
"Oh, now that does sound fun." She said, smiling. "So, shall I meet you down there then?" She asked.
"Sounds good." he agreed. "I'm done here. I can grab the next shuttle down. See you at the main starport?"
Lucy nodded, climbing up into the pilot seat of her fighter, and running a quick systems check, while she waited for everyone else to arrive to head down to the surface. She looked forward to seeing Jon on the surface.
